Final Entry
So ladies and gentlemen it ends here. As much as I would love to continue there is really nothing more I can say. Human nature will never change. It will be the one of the few constant things that survives thousands of years into the future. Humans will be forever greedy and selfish so what is the point of continuing this blog if everything will be constantly the same? I hope you realized what human nature truly is over the course of reading this blog.If you don't agree you are naive to believe that if two people were starving on an island that they would share the few coconuts available! Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Thomas Hobbes

Blog Wednesday #3
"Philosophies of leadership are determined by beliefs about human nature." This means that how a leader governs is determined by what the leader believes about the human nature of his followers. In order to successfully lead a group of humans the leader needs to know his followers. He needs to know how his people will act, for example a kindergarten teacher needs to know when he or shes students will get bored and tired during the day in order to prevent the teacher loosing power over the students. He or she needs to make a schedule of activities and nap times to keep everything under control and to never let the students have the power to manipulate the schedule. I agree with this because all humans are exactly the same, selfish and greedy. In order to keep control of a society where all are selfish a third party or a dictatorship must be involved. In this case the teacher would be the dictator, who keeps all the power to his or herself so that the greedy students don't have any to abuse. When a third party or a dictatorship governs, the people have no power to get more than others so everything is equl.
"The governed have a responsibility for their governance." This conveys that the people have the power and the responsibility to take their leader out of power if he or she is abusing it. The people are responsible because they are the ones who chose this leader in a democracy. A real life example of this is the impeachment of the 17th president of the United States, Andrew Johnson. Johnson was impeached on February 24th in 1868 by the House of Representatives which are like the followers in this scenario. Andrew Johnson was charged with eleven articles detailing high crimes and misdemeanors and was then taken out of power by a group of followers (the House of Representatives.) I don't personally believe the people have any rights to take a leader's power away at all. They can't hold the responsibility of this right when most of the time humans are greedy animals. If a group of people which may have the majority of opinions takes a leader out of power they could possibly be doing it for selfish reasons which is unfair to the minority that was benefiting from that leader. The bottom line is that all humans are selfish and greedy and don't have the capacity to take on such a responsibility such as this one.
"Human Nature does not determine our actions,it inclines us towards certain actions." This signifies that good things happen in a bad world and vise versa. We have all subconsciously thought of bad actions but not actually pursued them. Bad actions occur when people fight and loose to their human nature. An example of not pursuing bad actions would be if you got a bad grade and you were angry at the teacher. Your first and natural instinct is to scream and push your teacher but because of consequences you restrain. An example of someone loosing a fight against their human nature is a school shooting the shooter is usually bullied and cannot put up a fight against his natural instinct of getting revenge on the kids that inflict pain on him or her. Human nature is a complex thing, and although good things can happen bad events occur just as much and maybe even more.

Sudanese Boys
I am extremely surprised with the story of the Sudanese boys. The fact that they looked after each other in such desperate times does not reflect on my view of human nature. The elders of the group around the age of eleven looked after the young and protected them from wild animals. Thankfully my view of human nature came across a little when it came to crossing the rivers which made complete sense. The boys who could not swim or were eaten by crocodiles were left behind, in the water it was every boy for himself. Even though there was a little of what I believe human nature really is a lot of of what the boys did for each other was astonishing to me.
New and Improved Lord of the Flies Ending
1. The book Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a book that is known worldwide. It is highly looked upon and a required book in the United States education system. Although many enjoy the enthralling pages of this book a lot of readers are disappointed with the ending including me. After all the boys went through, after they all lost grip on reality they stand on the beach crying? This to me is very unrealistic, where did they're animalistic sides go? Prior to the officer arriving the boys were animals, and then all of sudden they are the cute innocent boys they once were! If I were to re-write the ending of Lord of the Flies for William Golding I would have the boy's true human nature revealed to the officer. In my ideal ending, when the officer shows up on the beach the boys go crazy. All the boys are not crying, their eyes show blank crazed stares instead of tears, their skin stained with mud, and their clothes shredded to pieces. They would simply act and appear as animals. The officer is shocked but relatively relaxed at first, but then he sees the vast amount of boys coming from shadows of the trees and becomes more panicked, there were so many of them he thought. It isn't until he sees the crazed expressions worn on their faces that he is frightened for his saftey. The boys surround the officer cheering, the cheering could be mistaken as joyful but the officer is focused on the look in all their eyes and knows these boys have lost grip on reality, they were all mad. The officer felt trapped, and he was. The boys started to shove the officer around a little, all of them lost in their cheers unaware that they are hurting the officer. Soon the officer is pushed to the ground and the boys start swarming, suddenly their cheers morphed into chants and the beating continues. It was a blissful day birds chirping sun shining, the bliss was interrupted by the officers repulsive scream which was cut off abruptly leaving a deep dark silence behind.
2. Thesis: The character Jack in Lord of the Flies represents my vision of human nature because he leads the killings of both Simon and Piggy, he is selfish, and he does not care about the little'uns at all. These characteristics are a part of him because of his lust for power.

My favorite Books
Lord of the Flies: This book shows how humans react when there are no rules or consequences. And it shows how far people will go when they loose grip on reality and to survive.
Macbeth: Macbeth represents a clear vision of human nature. He ends up murdering just to become king because he had such a lust for power.

My favorite TV show called Survivor.
Survivor shows the truth about human nature to the world. The contestants lie and back stab to win the prize of one million dollars.
